Visual Cheat Sheet
I am actually quite proud of these. I did them awhile ago and I still refer to them quite a lot. The idea is simple, if you only configure a filer once or twice a month, the process might not stick in your head exactly and you may easily miss out a step. Rather than reams and reams of documentation, the idea is to have a couple of these pinned around your monitor and you have quite a quick visual guide on how you should configure things and it’s easy to keep to a certain standard.
I’m going to try produce more of these for various guides I do, they are much easier to understand quickly when you’re in a hurry.
The SnapDrive one here is a little dated, so please don’t hold that against the content.

I like the idea – nice and clean. The side notes with the naming conventions / editorial notes are a great addition.
Hello
Great idea.
You are correct about setting up resources on the Filer and forgetting later.
What program allowed you to create your charts?
Thanks for sharing.
UNIX Systems Analyst
Cheers for the feedback, these were simply created with M$ Visio.
hi there
thanks for the visual cheat sheets. can you advise how best to view them?
Great job!
Just let me make a small request/suggestion I think it can be useful, could you add the Quota configuration after Volumes/Qtrees creation?
Thanks for these very useful guides!
Hey there,
I was just wondering if there was any way I/we could get the original Visio documents??
This way we can get the sheets clean and clear.
Please email me for any time
Thanks
I’ll have to have a look. I’ll see if I can paste them up here. Cheers for the feedback.
